Christian Alexander Schmid has been a board member of Helaba since December 2018, responsible for Real Estate Finance, Asset Finance, Portfolio and Real Estate Management, GWH Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH Hessen, OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH, as well as Branch Management in London and New York.

After completing his banking apprenticeship, studying at the Bankakademie, and intensive training at the Business School IMD in Lausanne, he held various positions at Deutsche Bank. In 2002, he joined Eurohypo AG. From 2012 to 2017, he served as Head of Business and Syndication Management and Managing Director at Aareal Bank in Wiesbaden. In 2017, he was appointed General Attorney at Helaba, before being appointed to its Executive Board in 2018.
