This course studies digital assets, the underlying blockchain technology and their likely impact on finance. The course is organized in five sessions: (1) introduction to blockchain and distributed ledger technology, (2) DeFi applications as an alternative to traditional financial services, (3) investing in digital assets, (4) tokenization, Security Token Offerings (STOs), Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and the future of financing, (5) blockchain use cases in banking. The content is delivered through pre-readings, class-room presentations, case studies, and discussions with guest speakers.

Dr. Radoslav Albrecht is an experienced finance professional and entrepreneur. He is the Founder & CEO of Bitbond – a leading company for asset tokenization technology. Bitbond also issued Germany’s first tokenized bond via a Security Token Offering in 2019. Prior to founding Bitbond, he was a senior consultant at Roland Berger and primarily advised banks in Europe and Western Africa. Radoslav began his career at Deutsche Bank London in sales & trading of structured equity products in the institutional clients group. Radoslav is member of the supervisory board of Witten/Herdecke University as well as head of the supervisory board of Erl Immobilienkonto I AG.
