Incorporation of sustainability aspects into investment decisions is not only requested for financial intermediaries by regulators worldwide but helps to reduce long-term and often extreme risks and caters to investors’ demands. Sustainability matters directly or indirectly to all companies and is key to the long-term success of each business. Dr. Gerrit Jan van den Brink is working as advisor on ESG-, Risk Management, AI and Data. He is a lecturer at the Goethe University, Goethe Business School, the Dutch Actuarial Institute and the Hague University of Applied Sciences. Before he worked as CRO, CFO, Operations Director, Head of Operational Risk and Compliance and Auditor in the Banking, Life Insurance and Pensions sector in Germany, the Netherlands, UK and Ireland. Dr. van den Brink is a chartered accountant and holds a PhD of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
